Important lessons all businesses can learn from the world’s largest entertainment industry.
The gaming industry has grown into a $120 billion per annum industry with approximately 2.5 billion active gamers worldwide. It is redefining the way we consume entertainment and shaping popular culture.
Join us for a presentation by Tim Ponting, director for the New Zealand Game Developers Association, who will offer insights into the people who play, make and embrace games and what lessons businesses can learn from the international gaming industry.
Tim Ponting is director for the New Zealand Game Developers Association, director of Spotted Kiwi Interactive, a Dunedin-based video game developer and publisher, and director of Renegade PR Ltd, a communications and business development agency. His career spans three decades in music, media and gaming, from musician, journalist, magazine and web publisher to running EMEA communication for one of the world's largest videogame publishers, Activision. He is an active investor and mentor in the interactive entertainment industry of Aotearoa, and sits on the Working Group for the recently PGF-funded Dunedin CODE initiative.
