Overview

What are the needs of boards in the agri-sector right now, what might that look like in another 5 to 10 years’ time and how can the challenges other sectors are facing help agri-sector boards anticipate new risks?   What can we learn from the unique and positive characteristics of agri-business owners and what does their experience in their own enterprises bring to the board table?

Andrew Morrison

Andrew Morrison is a Southland based sheep and beef farmer, who together with his wife Lisa, currently farms 1030 hectares of sheep and beef breeding/finishing farms in Otago and Southland. He currently serves in the industry good space as Chair of Beef+Lamb New Zealand Ltd and is the Chair of the Board and farmer-elected Director of the Southern South Island Farmer Council of Beef + Lamb New Zealand.

Andrew is also Chair of the New Zealand Meat Board and director on the board of Balance Agri-Nutrients, Ovis Management Ltd, Wool Research Organisation of New Zealand and Pastoral Greenhouse Gas Research Consortium.  He is also a member of the Farming Leaders Group and the newly created Food and Fibre Partnership Group.
