How can you be best prepared to get a better outcome.
Boards operate in an environment of increasing scrutiny and accountability. Insurance and indemnities are a crucial consideration for a company and its directors. Directors need to ensure they have adequate insurance and indemnities to cover potential liability. Most relevant to directors is directors’ and officers’ (D&O) insurance that protects them against legal costs and possible damages in defending allegations of wrongful acts when acting in their capacity as directors.
Join us for this Directors Deep Dive hosted by our national partner, and global leader in insurance broking and risk management, Marsh. Steven Hills, South Island regional manager, will set the scene by providing a general insurance market update and discuss how insurers have responded to the COVID-19 outbreak both in New Zealand and globally.
Reece Johns, client executive and team leader South Island – FINPRO, will discuss how insurance and indemnities should be viewed as investments in risk management. He’ll cover how you can be best prepared to get a better outcome and will look at some of the current issues facing companies in the placement of their directors and officers programmes. These issues include reduced capacity, pricing increases, and narrowing of cover.
Our directors’ deep dive discussion-style events are capped at 20 attendees. Whether you are completely new to the topic or have years of relevant experience, you will be encouraged to ask questions and actively contribute your perspective.
Reece has recently joined Marsh to head the Finpro team in the South Island. He started his successful career as a liability underwriter which culminated in a management role at a multinational insurer. Since moving to Christchurch 15 years ago, he has held senior roles at two global broking firms, whilst specialising in liability matters.
Steve is a member of the Marsh New Zealand Executive and provides in addition to his management responsibilities, high level insight and thought leadership with clients risk and insurance platforms.
35 years’ experience in the insurance industry, based in Christchurch ranging from account management through to executive leadership. Steve has extensive experience across the insurance industry with his main focus being corporate clients throughout the South Island.
