Overview

Fraud can have significant repercussions regardless of the size of the business. As well as the loss itself, fraud can undermine otherwise healthy businesses and irreversibly damage the reputations of the business, its management, and its directors. It is important that as part of discharging their duties, directors are alert to the possibility of fraud and take actions to mitigate the risks faced by the company as a whole.

Join Nexia New Zealand’s Corporate Advisory team as they provide some important insights for directors on how to manage the risk of fraud and financial crime as part of their board appointments.

During this workshop they will provide insights on

  • The current state of fraud and financial crime in New Zealand and globally
  • Common fraud schemes
  • Workshop examples to see if you can identify the “red-flags”
  • Effective measures you can implement to reduce the impact of fraud
  • The key questions a board should be to asking management
  • What should a company do if a fraud is suspected?

Our directors’ deep dive discussion-style events are capped at 15 attendees. Whether you are completely new to the topic or have years of relevant experience, you will be encouraged to ask questions and actively contribute your perspective.
