How to allocate points to third-party and other activities

There are three steps to recording CPD activity offered by other providers:

Step 1: Assess the activity against the New Zealand Director Competency Framework for relevance.

Step 2: Find a comparable activity in the IoD suite of professional development activities. Similar activities can be assigned similar points.

Consider the following:

  • time spent
  • currency
  • design/formality of learning objectives
  • complexity/depth of learning
  • engagement in learning/ interactivity
  • contribution to the profession

Step 3: Keep a record of the activity or log your CPD activities on your CPD Dashboard.
