At this branch lunch held in association with NZ King Salmon, Sustainable Business Network founder Rachel Brown will discuss the social and political landscape around environmental sustainability, where businesses need to be focusing their energy for better environmental outcomes and the measures that boards need to be taking to achieve this.
Rachel Brown is the Founder and CEO of the Sustainable Business Network (SBN), the largest and longest-standing organisation dedicated to sustainable business in New Zealand. She has played a critical role in advancing sustainable business for nearly 20 years and is a regular presenter, commentator and driver of action within NZ business.
Rachel sits on a number of advisory Boards, including the Small Business Council, and provided strategic sustainability advice to countless businesses, ranging from large corporates through to small enterprises. She has fostered numerous cross-sector partnerships. And she has been personally trained by Al Gore as part of an international climate project.
Rachel is passionate about the role business plays in transforming New Zealand's economy into one that is smarter and more sustainable. She leads SBN with a strong focus on communicating the value of reshaping profit. Prior to founding SBN in 2002, Rachel formed and ran the Auckland Environmental Business Network.
