We invite you to join us for our annual Christmas lunch, where we are delighted to have Wayne Boyd, joining us to share his vast experience of Governance in entrepreneur owned SMEs, SOEs, Iwi entities, Public companies, Sports and Charities.

Ruminating on the differences and similarities between these numerous organisations, also expect topics such as board appointment, due diligence and diversity.

Wayne Boyd

Wayne's working life had three phases - lawyer, investment banker and professional director. During a period of twenty years in the final phase he accumulated extensive boardroom experience.

He acted as a director and often Chair of Government controlled entities and Iwi controlled commercial entities, including Ngai Tahu Holdings corporation limited.

In public and private companies, his chair roles included Telecom, Meridian Energy and Auckland International Airport.

Wayne is a recipient of a Distinguished Fellow Award from the New Zealand Institute of Directors. 

For the past five years Wayne has been retired and involved in the Not-For-Profit (Public Good) space. In addition to his role as Chair of the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation, Wayne is the Chair of the NZSAS Trust and a Council member of the Neurological Foundation of New Zealand. 

Wayne was actively involved in hockey for more than forty years as a player, coach, manager and administrator. He served as a board member and Chair of the NZ Hockey Federation. A foundation trustee of the Waikato Sports Trust, he continues to maintain interest in a wide range of sports. 

Wayne and his wife, Annie, have a blended family of four children and five grandchildren.
