This is a director skill development session – where you will learn to understand organisational tax risk and how it is managed. You will learn about tax accounting and how to read and understand the tax disclosures in financial reports.
Real life examples will be referred to.
Following this session, you will know what questions to ask of management and what to expect from your accountant and auditor.


Paul Hodson
Since completing his CA qualification in Wellington in 1983, Paul has worked exclusively in tax.
He was a specialist taxation services partner with BDO from 1996 to 2017 (in Wellington until 2008 and then Tauranga).  He has extensive experience in advising corporates, not for profits/charities, family businesses and individuals on all aspects of taxation.
In 2017 Paul left BDO and formed his own specialist advisory firm, focusing mainly on managing the tax and financial affairs of private clients. He also advises several CA firms who do not have in-house taxation expertise.
​Paul is a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand, director of a private healthcare group and is trustee of the Hanmer BOP Charitable Trust (alcohol & drug addiction services).
