The Institute of Directors has staff based at the National Office in Wellington and an office in Auckland. Eight branch managers operate from their localities.

Senior Leadership Team

Glenn Snelgrove - Acting CEO
Glenn has been involved in Public Sector, Central Government and Local Government roles for over 40 years. In the early years he was a Government Auditor, auditing local authorities and government departments both in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. His career started in Local Government in 1978, being Deputy Town Clerk for two local authorises. Appointed Chief Executive for the Mount Maunganui Borough Council in 1986, and then moving to the Western Bay of Plenty District Council in 1989 as part of Local Government reform in New Zealand. Appointed Chief Executive Officer in 1991 and retiring after 25 years in July 2014.  Glenn is director of a number of companies, chair of the IoD Bay of Plenty Branch, national councillor representing Bay of Plenty, chair of an audit committee for a local authority and a member and chair of a number of community organisations.


Nikki Franklin – Manager, Membership, Marketing and Communications
Nikki Franklin heads the Membership, Marketing and Communications teams within the IoD. Her background is largely in marketing and general management for large corporates such as Unisys, IAG, Southpower, Canterbury of New Zealand and the Mount Cook Group. She has a BCom in Marketing and a BA in German from University of Auckland.


Chris Fox – Corporate Services Manager
Chris is our Corporate Services Manager. He and his team are responsible for all aspects of finance, information technology, human resources, reception and administration. Chris has been with the IoD since April 2014 and he is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) - formerly NZICA.


Peter McLellan – Branch Network Manager
Peter McLellan is the Branch Network Manager with responsibility to enhance the member experience through improved strategic and operational alignment between regional centres and National Office. Peter has specialised in transforming policy into operational excellence while maintaining strong customer focus.


Felicity CairdFelicity Caird – Governance Leadership Centre Manager
Felicity leads the Governance Leadership Centre, which keeps members up-to-date on key governance developments, current best practice and issues affecting directors and their roles. Felicity has a public sector background, and has worked at the Office of the Auditor-General where she reported to Parliament on the performance of public entities, and at the State Services Commission on governance in the wider state sector. Felicity has an MA in history from the University of Canterbury and a DipLib from Victoria University.


Felicity CairdKirsten Ralph – General Manager Commercial
Kirsten Ralph is the General Manager Commercial, leading the IoD’s governance training and consultancy services. Kirsten has held senior roles across both the public and private sectors. For the past three years Kirsten has been the Commercial Manager Public Conservation Land for the Department of Conservation. Prior to this was with Inland Revenue for about six years in a variety of roles from Strategic Designer Policy Advice and Corporate Strategy to National Advisor Operational Strategy and Design. Kirsten has a Master of Arts, Master of Commerce in Marketing and a Bachelor of Economics and Marketing.
