MICHELLE URQHUART

Michelle is the National Chair of Scouts Aotearoa, having taken over the role in 2024.  She knows first-hand the difference Scouts makes in young people's lives. She was a youth member of Guiding New Zealand (achieving her Queen’s Guide Award), before joining Scouts as 16 year old Venturer. Over the past 20 years she has held adult leadership roles across the organisation such as Scout Leader, Zone Venturer Leader, Camp Director and Board Member.  

When is not “Scouting” she is a barrister and workplace resolution specialist. She is the vice President of the Rotorua Chamber of Commerce and an active Justice of the Peace.  She lives on a rural lifestyle block near Rotorua with a myriad of animals and a garden that is way too big.
