Neil has worked in various roles in New Zealand capital markets over the past 35 years. He has been Managing Director of Forsyth Barr since 2001 during which time the firm has grown substantially. Forsyth Barr is a leading wealth management, sharebroking and investment banking firm.

Neil is on the boards of the New Zealand Initiative, Charter Schools Authorisation Board, Wellington Free Ambulance, NZ Art Show and Wellington Charity Hospital Trust.  He is a former Chancellor and of Victoria University of Wellington and previously served as a Director of NZX and Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand (CAANZ).  Neil was an inaugural recipient of a Sir Peter Blake Trust Leadership Award in 2005.
