LISETTE REYMER
Lisette Reymer is a multi-award winning journalist, one of New Zealand’s only War Correspondents and recognised as one of the country’s top storytellers.
In recent years her life has been a blur of breaking news, border crossings, body armour, landmine dodging and bomb shelters. Her work overseas has even attracted the attention of the Russian President, who has now sanctioned her by name.
In 2021, at 26 years old, she was chosen to be Newshub’s Europe Correspondent and moved to London, where she would go on to cover some of the biggest global headlines in decades. From the frontline of the Ukraine war, to the Queen’s death, the war between Israel and Gaza, Donald Trump’s indictment, the King’s coronation, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Olympics and commonwealth games, the hunger crisis in Ethiopia and a revolving door of UK Prime Ministers; Lisette has seen and done more in a few years, than many journalists do in a lifetime.
Her journalism has earned her multiple awards, including Best Coverage of a Major News Event for her work in Ukraine at both the New Zealand Television Awards and the Voyager Media Awards, and most recently she was named 2024’s Reporter of the Year. She has also written a book, ‘No, I Don’t Get Danger Money: Confessions of an Accidental War Correspondent.’
If you want to know what it’s really like to cover some of the most perilous and extraordinary moments in history, Lisette is the perfect speaker for your event. Her adventures have provided her countless stories, both heartbreaking and entertaining, all of which she shares in her typical brutally honest and funny way. You won’t believe half of what was truly happening behind the scenes, when the On Air light wasn’t on.
Lisette also has experience as an MC, with her talent on the microphone ensuring your event runs smoothly, efficiently and with warmth.
Now as Senior Correspondent for Three News, she specializes in International Affairs and is deeply passionate and informed on what is happening around the globe. This puts her in prime position to host panels, and pose educated questions, while also being able to provide her own analysis and commentary on issues of international conflict and politics as required.
Lisette appears by arrangement with ESSENTIAL TALENT.
