Over forty years Dr Rod Carr has served on over twenty governing bodies including large and small public and private companies, trusts and advisory bodies. He has been appointed by six different governments to advise on education, health, financial services, macro economics, infrastructure, disaster recovery, the science system, and climate change. He is currently a director of ASB bank and chair’s the bank’s risk committee. He was recently appointed as a trustee of the Bank’s Peninsular Conservation Trust and is in the process of establishing Climate Trust Aotearoa NZ to research, advocate for and deliver climate response initiatives. He mentors a number of Canterbury based businesses involved in the energy transition, including working in his family company which delivers solar as a service to capital constrained entities such as local government, charities, schools and SMEs. He holds among a number of degrees, a PhD in insurance and risk management from the University of Pennsylvania.
