DAVID KIRK

Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Bailador Technology Investments.

 

David is the Co-Founder and Chair of Bailador Technology Investments, an ASX-listed investment fund investing in private expansion stage technology companies. He is a Director of several Bailador investee companies.  

David is Chair of KMD Brands [ASX:KMD, NZ:KMD], the holding company for brands Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz, and Chair of Forsyth Barr, a privately-owned New Zealand investment firm. He has also chaired a number of non-for-profit entities. He was appointed Chair of New Zealand Rugby, the governing body for the sport, in February 2025.  

David is the former CEO of two public companies, PMP Ltd and Fairfax Media Ltd. Prior to joining the corporate world David enjoyed a highly successful rugby career. David captained the All Blacks to win the World Cup in 1987 and was awarded an MBE in 1988. He was also Chief Policy Advisor to New Zealand Prime Minister, Hon. Jim Bolger. 

David is a Rhodes Scholar with degrees in Medicine from Otago University, and Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
