This course is designed to provide directors with a fundamental understanding of published financial statements and corporate reporting to enable them to perform effectively at the board table and take equal individual financial responsibility.
You will be provided with basic analysis and interpretation tools to allow you to contribute to financial discussions and decision-making confidently.
The course assumes no prior financial knowledge.
Course Goals
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Understand the director’s role in relation to financial reporting
- Understand the major elements and linkages between the financial statements
- Use financial terminology and operate confidently with numbers in the boardroom
- Understand and identify how to use financial data in calculating simple financial ratios to monitor board performance
- Question and investigate specific indicators of performance
