The Company Directors' Course
Curriculum Level: Acquisition
This comprehensive five day, six night residential course provides a complete understanding of the role, duties and knowledge requirements (including governance principles, finance, law, risk and strategy) for directorship in New Zealand and has been developed specifically to meet the current and emerging needs of those who have received little formal training for their role as a director.
The IoD has designed this course to address all aspects of excellence in corporate governance. It is brought to life through a board simulation exercise and highly interactive case studies. Practitioner experiences and the shared learning of peers will enable you to re-evaluate your performance as a director.
The IoD’s Company Directors Course is a residential course, and you will be required to attend each session to gain certification. Each course will start on the evening of the first day with a welcome dinner to introduce the course.
This course consistently meets the needs of Senior Executive and directors of all levels who wish to advance their competency in the governance environment.
Course Goals
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Identify and define the duties of directors based on best practice, statute and common law
