The resource room contains relevant articles, news and guidance on best practice.
Corporate governance is a fashionable topic at present, given much currency by well publicised stories of corporate failure, fraud, hubris and excess. It is a fertile new source of revenue for consultants and other professional advisers, some qualified, others self-appointed. Thankfully, governance is an area of enquiry where an interested and motivated enquirer can find a great deal of useful and insightful material for him or herself reasonably quickly.
This
Resource Room contains a variety of information which might be of use to a student of governance, of whatever vintage.
In the general area open to all readers, and in accordance with the best principles of transparency, the Institute's own
Founding Documents are open for inspection by all.
News and Articles contains current and archived IoD media material and a
Glossary of terms provides straightforward interpretations of selected governance terms.
The
Principles of Best Practice for New Zealand Directors: The Four Pillars of Effective Board Governance is available for inspection and download by members.
The
Further Resources section highlights material (books, articles, web links and other releases) that the IoD's Research and Policy area has accessed in the course of its work. This material has impressed by its currency, insight, provocation, usefulness, originality or sheer eccentricity.
The
Opinion section contains selected published and unpublished thoughts (sometimes biased, often strident, occasionally tongue-in cheek but hopefully never boring).
